LONG VALLEY, NJ — A major power outage impacting more than 1,700 residents is being reported in Washington Township on Monday.

The outage is impacting Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) customers across the whole Township, police said in an alert just after 9:30 a.m.

As of 9:45 p.m., 1,702 customers are without power, according to the JCP&L outage map.

Police said they have notified JCP&L. The power company is preparing for a crew assessment to investigate the outage.

Power is expected to be restored around 11 a.m., according to JCP&L.
