Shoplifting, DWI Reported In Long Valley: Police Blotter
Washington Township Police released the blotter for the past few weeks.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — In recent weeks, Long Valley has experienced two shoplifting attempts, an investigation into stolen checks and more.
The following details were gathered from Washington Township Police Department records.
On Aug. 26, detectives from the Washington Township Police Department concluded their investigation into the theft of checks from St. Luke's Parish. A 44-year-old man from Hackensack, whose name was not released, has been charged with two counts of third-degree theft and three counts of third-degree criminal attempt.

On Aug. 27, patrol officers responded to a report of shoplifting in progress at a local Target. They located and arrested a 35-year-old woman from Budd Lake, who has been charged with third-degree shoplifting. She was released pending a court appearance.
On Aug. 28, detectives concluded their investigation into a previous shoplifting incident at Target. A 35-year-old woman from Newark was charged with third-degree shoplifting. The woman, whose name was not released, is believed to be part of an organized theft ring that has stolen more than $25,000 in merchandise from various Target stores.

Earlier this summer, patrol officers found a vehicle on Flocktown Road with the driver passed out and the engine running in the travel lane. Further investigation revealed that the 34-year-old Lebanon man was driving under the influence and that the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier.
The driver was arrested and charged with DWI, possession of stolen vehicle and possession of stolen property. After processing, he was turned over to the Lebanon Police Department for an outstanding warrant in their jurisdiction.
