Testing Their Medal: Young WMC Fencers Grab Gold, Take Over Tourney Podium
Freshman/Sophomore invitational dominated by West Morris athletes.
LONG VALLEY, N.J. – More than 200 competitors from the region took part in the Morris Knolls Freshmen/Sophomore invitational on Dec. 26, and West Morris Central made it known it would be a force for years to come.
The event, held at Morris Hills High School on Dec. 26, was for individual competitors across three weapons.
Central’s boys competitors were strong, earning three gold medals. Nate Mange too first place in Freshman Foil, outlasting his finals opponent 5-2 and 5-0. Christian Garcia took first place in Sophomore Foil, and Nick Constantino took first place in Freshman Epee, outlasting his Central teammate Quin Cunningham in the final. Cunningham took silver in the event.

Sophomore Christopher Infinity took silver in Epee and Andrew Cretella grabbed seventh in Freshman Epee.
On the girls side Freshman Rachel Hefner took third place in Epee, with sophomores Lana Prieur taking second in Foil and Kayleigh Nix grabbing third in Epee.
