Twp. Officials Ready For Storm That Could Bring Foot Of Snow To Long Valley

Notice on warming centers, road work to come throughout the weekend.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – The forecast may be unpredictable – blizzard watch, maybe a few inches, maybe a few feet – but something that isn’t swaying is Washington Township’s ability to handle what’s on the way.

The plows are ready at the Department of Public Works, and the crews are being coordinated to take on day and night shifts.

Office of Emergency Management Deputy Coordinator Bruce Clark said Thursday that, if needed, warming centers may open in town and if roadways or driveways are impassable to those in need, a crew of Long Valley residents with snowmobiles will be at the ready to assist.
