Wetdown Welcomes New Fire Truck In Long Valley

The Fairmount Fire Company in Long Valley is welcoming their new fire engine with a "wetdown" this weekend.

LONG VALLEY, NJ β€” The Fairmount Fire Company is welcoming a new fire engine in Long Valley this weekend, and there's only one way to celebrate: with a wetdown.

The wetdown will be held this Saturday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m. at the firehouse (12 Parker Road, Long Valley). The event is also a celebration of the fire company's 70th anniversary.

In addition to the wet down, there will be the David Christopher Band Live, food and refreshments. Mugs, t-shirts, and 50/50 tickets will be for sale.

A wetdown is a christening of sorts for the new engine. Trucks from neighboring fire companies come and spray the truck to welcome it into service.
