5-Year Prison Term For Madison Man Who Shared Child Porn

25-year-old admitted to having more than 600 images on his home computer, authorities said.

MADISON – A Madison man has been sentenced to five years in prison for distributing images and video of child sexual abuse over the Internet.

Michael Hodukavich, 25, pleaded guilty to one count of distributing child pornography over the Internet and was sentenced Thursday in Trenton federal court, the Department of Justice announced.

Hodukavich previously admitted that on Nov. 20 and 21, 2014, he distributed videos and images depicting child sexual abuse on the Internet through peer-to-peer file sharing software, which allowed others to access the material in shared directories.

An undercover agent discovered and downloaded the images and videos and traced the IP address back to Hodukavich’s residence. Hodukavich admitted to having more than 600 images of child sexual abuse saved on his computer.

In addition to the five-year sentence, Hodukavich will be subject to five years of supervised release.
