Missing Child, Mother Found in Kentucky

Mine Hill woman and 1-year-old child reported missing from Hanover Township doctor's office.

Update: Both the mother and child have been located in Hyden County Kentucky which is located in Leslie County. Both mom and child are safe and the stop and hold have been released, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities are looking for a Mine Hill woman and her 1-year-old child after a family member reported the child missing from a Hanover Township doctor’s office at noon on Wednesday. According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the two may be in a white Chevy Impala with Kentucky license plates.

The prosecutor’s office has issued a stop and hold to law enforcement officials, looking for 29-year-old Jessica Collette and her son, Bentley.

According to the prosecutor's office, a family member reported that Collette drove her and the child to a doctor’s appointment in Hanover Township with the understanding that Collette would be waiting for her in the parking lot.

The family member said when she exited the office, she found the family vehicle in the lot with a note indicating Collette was leaving with the child for Kentucky .

The prosecutor’s office is asking anyone who observes Collette, her son, or a vehicle with Kentucky plates that may be occupied by the two to call 911, the Hanover Township Police Department, or the prosecutor’s office. “Our primary concern is to make sure the child is safe,” Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi stated in a release in regards to the stop and hold.
