Code Blue In Effect For Madison As Temperatures Drop
Monday night's low temperature will be 28 degrees and the cold overnight weather is expected to last until the end of the week.
MADISON, NJ — Officials from Madison Borough have issued a Code Blue for both Monday and Wednesday nights due to a sudden drop in overnight temperatures.
Temperatures on Monday night will dip as low as 28 degrees, which is expected to carry over into the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
When temperatures drop below freezing and conditions threaten homeless people, a network of agencies across New Jersey assists them in finding shelter.

During such times, the Morris County Office of Emergency Management, in collaboration with local municipalities, will frequently initiate and communicate a Code Blue Alert, allowing authorities to make shelter arrangements for homeless adults.
To combat the cold temperatures, warming centers will be open and accessible to those in need. These locations are intended to serve as a temporary location for a person to warm up, not as a shelter, officials said.
