Cut Your Own Locally Grown Christmas Tree Near Madison
Looking for a new holiday tradition? There are several Christmas tree farms near Madison where you can choose your own spruce.

The holiday season has arrived and for many Madison families, that means bringing home the perfect, fresh cut spruce. Cutting down your own, locally grown Christmas tree is a fun outing for the whole family.
New Jersey has dozens of tree farms to choose from, with four farms in Morris County alone, according to the New Jersey Christmas Tree Growers Association website. The site has a county-by-county breakdown of farms, with details of the trees and services they offer.

Hidden Pond Christmas Tree Farm, 4 West Field Rd., Mendham. 973-865-6362. This farm has more than 200 trees. Varieties include: Norway Spruce, Fraser Fir, Canaan Fir, Balsam Fir. The farm is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday – Sunday, Nov. 28 to Dec. 21.
Plut’s Christmas Tree Farm, 220 Flocktown Rd., Long Valley. 908-852-6669. This farm has more than 300 trees. Varieties include Blue Spruce, White Pine, Douglas Fir, Fraser Fir. The farm is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday – Sunday, Oct. 4 to Dec. 24.

Rolling Green Farm LLC, 61 Hacklebarney Rd., Long Valley. 908-879-7457. This farm has more than 300 trees. Varieties include Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, White Spruce, Fraser Fir. The farm is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 28 – Dec. 21.
Village Tree Farm, 8 Meyersville Rd., Green Village. 908-236-9202. This farm has more than 200 trees. Varieties include: Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, White Spruce, White Pine, Scotch Pine, Douglas Fir, Concolor Fir, Fraser Fir, Canaan Fir. The farm is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 29 – Dec. 21.

Just be sure to call to confirm hours of operation and tree supplies, because, the site’s owner notes, information can change, even in the midst of the holiday season.
