Dodger Domination! Madison Wins Sectional Football Title

The goal was set in August.

In December, the goal was met.

The Madison Dodgers football team took out the higher-seed Rutherford - in its own backyard, no less - by a score of 27-6 to win the North 2, Group 2 sectional title at MetLife Stadium Thursday night.

A tight first half ended with Madison up 7-6 at the break, but the Dodgers came out of intermission determined and never looked back, posting a second-half shutout and outscoring Rutherford 20-0 in the third and fourth quarters.

The 5 p.m. game was the first of New Jersey high school football championship weekend, and it was a great one for Madison.
