Drew University Ranked Among Best Colleges, Putting Madison In The Spotlight: Report

Drew University is one of nine New Jersey schools to make the list.

MADISON, NJ — Drew University has made The Princeton Review’s “Best 388 Colleges: 2023 Edition.”

Drew is one of nine colleges and universities on the list, which also includes Princeton University, Rutgers University-New Brunswick, and The College of New Jersey.

The list's 388 colleges are not ranked. However, the top 25 colleges were ranked in 50 categories to help direct students making college decisions to institutions that best meet their academic and personal needs.

For the first time, the categories include “green matters,” which names the colleges students give high marks for their commitment to the environment and conservation on their campuses.

Drew was ranked 10th in the nation in The Princeton Review's Best College Theater ranking and 21st in their Lots of Race/Class Interaction category, in addition to making the publication's annual Best Colleges list.

The ranking is based on 160,000 student surveys that asked students to rate their professors, administrators, school services, and other aspects of life at their colleges and to report on their campus and community experiences. Read more about the methodology.

The updated rankings also placed Drew among their list of Best Northeastern schools in their breakdown of top schools in each region of the country.

In New Jersey, eight other schools made the "Best 388 Colleges" list:

  • The College of New Jersey (TCNJ)
  • Monmouth University
  • New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT)
  • Princeton University
  • Rider University
  • Rutgers University-New Brunswick
  • Seton Hall University
  • Stevens Institute of Technology
