Drew Winter Choral Concert to Feature Works By Retiring Professor
The concert will take place Dec. 3 at The Concert Hall in the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts at 8 p.m.

MADISON, N.J.–The Drew University Chorale and Choral Union's winter concert will feature pieces by famous composer Antonio Vivaldi as well as some written by retiring music professor Norman Lowrey.
According to Associate Professor of Music Director of Choral & Vocal Studies Jason Bishop, the Vivaldi compositions are “Magnificat” and the Winter Concerto from “The Four Seasons.”
Adjunct instructor Michael Avagliano will solo on violin for the latter, Bishop said.

Lowrey is the former chair of the music department.
After 40 years, he's retiring and the Choral Union will sing his composition "Once More, the Round,” based on poetry by Theodore Roethke, Bishop said.

According to Bishop, the Chorale will perform “From Scripture of the Lotus Blossom of the Fine Dharma,” which was commissioned by the Drew Chaplain’s Office in 1995.
This is also Bishop's final show as he said he's leaving to become artistic director of Young Voices of Austin in Texas.
Admission is $5 at the door. Students get in free.
