Former Madison Resident, Millburn Social Worker Dies At 90

Regina Fielding lived Madison for decades while she worked in the Millburn School District.

MADISON, NJ - Obituary provided by Dangler Funeral Home:

Regina Fielding, 90, devoted wife, beloved mother and Grammy, social worker, world traveler,
and family fashion icon, died peacefully on March. 27 at Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge, NJ.
Regina lived a life of service to her family, community, and faith. She was born Apr. 15, 1928 in
Newark, NJ. A voracious reader with a passion for learning, she earned a B.A. from the College
of Saint Elizabeth and a master’s degree from Seton Hall University.

Regina married the love of her life, the late Winthrop Fielding, on Oct. 7, 1950 at St. Michael’s
Church in Union, NJ, and they were inseparable ever since. True to form, she arrived at the
ceremony slightly late and wearing pink.

Regina and Winthrop raised four children, Glen, Karen, Bruce, and Greg, in Madison, NJ. Regina
served as a social worker in the Millburn Township public school district for 27 years, where she
provided guidance to hundreds of children and families. She considered the opportunity a
privilege and a gift.

She retired in 1996 to enjoy her grandchildren and travel the world with her husband. They
sent postcards from the adventures, each ending with “Prayers and Love, Grammy and
Gramps.”

Regina’s spirituality guided her through the ups and downs of life. She was a volunteer lector
and Eucharistic minister at St. Brigid’s Church in Peapack. Regina’s memory lives on through her
four children, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandsons, all of whom she lovingly referred to
as “Precious.”

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, March 31, 2019, from 4-7 pm at
Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, NJ 07940. A Funeral Mass
will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Brigid Church, Peapack, NJ.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge, NJ.
