MADISON, NJ — A broken gas line near 294 Main Street caused a portion of the roadway to close on Tuesday morning.

According to the borough, the gas was turned off in the impacted area.

Main Street eastbound is now open to motorists; however, Main Street westbound will be closed until 3 p.m.

Local fire and police units have cleared the scene, and PSEG is still making the necessary repairs to fix the break.

"Please obey signage and directions from first responders," borough officials said.

Traffic delays of up to 5 minutes are likely in the region, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation's 511NJ website.
