A GoFundMe account has been created for Madison Police Department Lt. Joe Cirella who is currently battling Stage IV colon cancer.
“Lieutenant Joseph Cirella has been proudly serving the community of Madison for over 25 years. Recently he was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 Colon cancer that has spread to his liver, according to Lt. Cirella’s GoFundMe account.
In just two days, over $12,500 of the account’s $25,000 goal has been raised by 133 donors.

“Joe has a long road ahead of him and were asking you for your help in assisting Joe and his family in their time of need. Any donation you can provide would be greatly appreciated.”
According to his Linkedin account, Lt. Cirella joined the Madison Police Department in February 1989. He has worked as a Patrol Division Commander, Internal Affairs Commander, and a Public Information Officer.
