Cunningham's trio frequently performs at Shanghai Jazz in Madison and also at the Rum House in New York's Edison Hotel. The trio spent much of the summer in Europe, including a special July performance at La Caveau de la Huchette, a famous jazz club in Paris's Latin Quarter that was briefly featured in the film La La Land.
Cunningham recently released an album with his other band, Professor Cunningham and His Old School. "It's a gospel album in jazz," Cunningham explained, adding, "we'll definitely do some of those at the August concert."
