Lifelong Madison Resident Dies At 89
Orsala Allocca passed one day shy of her 90th birthday.

MADISON, NJ - Obituary submitted by Madison Memorial Home:
Orsala Allocca (Palazzi), a lifelong Madison resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018. She was 89, and one day shy of her 90th birthday.
Orsala was born in Madison on October 19, 1928 to the late Thomas and Rose Palazzi. She was raised in Madison and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church. Orsala had a career as a seamstress with McGregor’s Furrier of Madison for many years, before she transitioned her time fully to caring for her family and home. In addition to her own family, she also cared for her nieces and nephews and will always be remembered for her loving nature, good cooking, impeccable home and enjoying a cup of tea and a good dessert.

Orsala was predeceased by her beloved husband, the late Gaetano Allocca, in 1993, and her brother, Frank Palazzi. She is survived by her loving daughter, Patty Walters and her husband, Robert of East Hanover; two cherished grandsons, who called her “Boss”, Kyle and Guy Walters; her brother, Joseph Palazzi and his wife Ann of Florida; her sister, Carmella Bocchino and her husband Victor of Madison; a brother-in-law, Tommaso Allocca and his wife, Adele of Madison; a sister-in-law, Anna Allocca of Madison; four nieces, Carmella Bassolino of Madison, Victoria Rivano of Whippany, Lina Allocca of Madison, Lina Dworak of Madison; and one nephew, Joseph Bocchino of Madison.
Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 10 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison. Interment will be held at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Orsala’s life on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made in Orsala’s memory to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at this address.
