Lifelong Madison Resident Madeline Primavera Dies At 97

Primavera had a career spanning over 40 years at Newark Academy in Livingston, coordinating the operation of their cafeteria.

Madeline Primavera (nee Condurso), a lifelong Madison resident, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2018. She was 97.

Madeline was predeceased by her beloved husband, James J. Primavera in 2005; two brothers, Frank & Valentino “Nat” Condurso; four sisters, Rose Bove. Mary Filippone, Louise Granese & Anne Pagano. She leaves behind two sons, John Primavera and his wife, Diane of Convent Station & James Primavera and his wife, Grace of Brick; one daughter Maria Cottone and her husband, Ken of Whippany; and four cherished grandchildren, John Francis, Elisa, Gina & Christa.

Madeline was born in Madison on April 14, 1921 to the late Natale and Michelina Condurso. She was a very active parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church, serving as a eucharistic minister and past member of both the Rosary Society and Sacred Heart Society. Madeline had a career spanning over 40 years at Newark Academy in Livingston, coordinating the operation of their cafeteria. She retired in 2014. Madeline especially loved spending time with her cherished grandchildren whenever she could.

Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 10 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison. Interment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Madeline’s life on Monday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made in Madeline’s memory to the Madison Ambulance Corps, 29 Prospect St, Madison, NJ 07940.
