Madison Borough Crime - See The Latest Data

The Department of Law and Public Safety has released the latest crime data in its Uniform Crime Report.

The Department of Law and Public Safety today, April 17, released the 2013 Uniform Crime Report (UCR), which shows crime data for the state and municipalities.

Madison Borough had a decrease in violent crime in 2013 from 2012, the UCR said. The borough had a slight decrease in non-violent crime in 2013, as well.

The Department of Law and Public Safety’s report indicated New Jersey’s overall crime rate decreased by seven percent in 2013, compared to 2012, according to a press release from the department.

Madison Borough reported four violent crimes in 2013, down from seven in 2012, and the violent crime rate per 1,000 people decreased from 0.4 to 0.2, the report said. The borough also saw a slight decrease in non-violent crime, from 106 in 2012 to 104 in 2013. The non-violent crime rate per 1,000 also decreased, from 6.6 in 2012 to 6.4 in 2013.
