Madison Education Foundation Receives Grant from ConnectOne Bank

ConnectOne Bank issued a grant to the Madison Education Fund, supporting ideas and initiatives in Madison public schools.

The Madison Education Foundation announced it has received a $5,000 enrichment grant from ConnectOne Bank.

The grant will help support the mission of the Madison Education Foundation (MEF), nj.com reported.

According to the foundation’s website, the MEF awards grants to teachers and staff members in Madison public schools, funding ideas that energize the academic and creative life of students but fall beyond the school district budget.

“We are so grateful for this generous gift from ConnectOne Bank,” MEF President Mary Schaenen said, according to NJ.com. “ConnectOne Bank’s $5,000 grant will be used to support our upcoming Winter and Spring Grant Cycles. A gift at this level will have a real impact on bringing teacher-initiated ideas to life for our District’s students.”

In 2014, the MEF awarded more than $120,000 in grants across five schools and approved in August 2014 a $66,000 grant to renovate the Madison High School TV/video studio, NJ.com said. Since the foundation was established in 2003, it has approved more than $900,000 in grants.
