Madison H.S. Ranked 6th in State by NJ Monthly

Climbs nine spots from publication's list two years ago.

 was ranked as the No. 6 high school in the entire state by New Jersey Monthly magazine.

Only five schools, including one from Morris County, came in with a higher rank. Two years ago, when the rankings were last released, Madison was ranked No. 15.

NJ Monthly uses information from the state Department of Education to develop its rankings, which only takes into account public schools in the state. Student performance and student outcomes were the most heavily weighted to determine the rankings, followed by school environment.

New Providence High School, in Union County, was ranked No. 1. The four other schools that ranked above Madison in ascending order were McNair Academic (Jersey City), Tenafly, Glen Rock and Kinnelon. Kinnelon was the top ranked Morris County high school. Nearby Chatham and Millburn high schools were ranked 20th and 8th, respectively.
