Madison Police Arrest Two For Drug Possession

Madison Police Officer Stephanie Corrao arrests two young men for drug possession, financial facilitation of criminal activity.

Madison Police Officer Ptl. Stephanie Corrao arrested multiple drivers for possession of marijuana and controlled substances during recent motor vehicle stops in Madison.

A New Brunswick man was arrested on Nov. 21 during a motor vehicle stop on Main Street, when Pt. Corrao discovered evidence of recent drug use by speaking with him.

Ptl. Stephanie Corrao stopped the man after observing a motor vehicle violation allegedly take place on Main St. Corrao recovered less than 50 grams of marijuana in a wax form, as well as a large sum of cash, which was identified in the man's vehicle.

“[The man] was arrested and charged with Possession of Less than 50 grams of Marijuana by Ptl. Corrao,” Madison Police Lieutenant Cirella explained. “Madison Police Detective Shannon also charged [the man] with a third degree crime for Financial Facilitation of Criminal Activity.”

He was released on his own recognizance pending his appearance in the Morris County Superior Court.

Devon Robinson, 22, of Newark was also arrested for drug possession by Madison Ptl. Stephanie Corrao.

On Nov. 14 at 2:44 a.m., Ptl. Corrao arrested Robinson after responding to check on a report of a suspicious vehicle that was occupied on Belleau Ave.

Ptl. Corrao detected an odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle while speaking with the occupants of the vehicle on Belleau Ave, Madison Police Lieutenant Cirella reported.

After a further investigation Corrao arrested Robinson for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Robinson was later released pending his court appearance in the Madison Municipal Court.

During the month of November the Madison Police Department responded to 46 Motor Vehicle Crashes, assisted with 103 Medical Calls, responded to 48 Alarms and responded to 24 calls to assist a citizen in the Madison community.
