Madison Police Arrest Two for Simple Assault

Multiple individuals were recently arrested for simple assault in Madison, including a 19-year-old who assaulted an acquaintance at Drew.

Madison Police Officer Ptl. Bart Glab arrested multiple individuals for simple assault last month, including a 19-year-old who assaulted an acquaintance at Drew University.

Theresa Shafron, 19, of Hackensack was arrested shortly after midnight on Dec. 7 at the Drew University campus, when officers were called to the scene to respond to a report of assault.

When Madison Ptl. Glab arrived at Drew, he and his fellow officers determined Shafron assaulted an acquaintance during an argument, by allegedly punching her in the face, which caused minor injuries.

Shafron was charged with simple assault and released pending her appearance in the Madison Municipal Court.

Ptl. Bart Glab also arrested a Ventor, NJ. man for simple assault.

Richard Ladd, 42, of Ventor was arrested at 2 a.m. on Nov. 29 after Police responded to a report of an assault at a Madison home.

“Ptl. Glab responded to a report of an assault that allegedly occurred between Ladd and an acquaintance at a residence,” Madison Police Lieutenant Cirella explained. “After officers investigated what took place, Ladd was charged with simple assault.”

Ladd was released pending his court appearance in the Madison Municipal Court.

So far this month the Madison Police Department has responded on 39 Medical calls, 26 Motor Vehicle Crashes and 48 Alarm calls.
