July 8
- At 2:03 p.m., Ptl. Spiros Milonas arrested a 23-year-old man from Lake Hopatcong, NJ. Milonas conducted a stop for an alleged motor vehicle violation observed on Kings Rd. While Ptl. Milonas was explaining the violation to the driver, an odor of marijuana was detected from inside his vehicle. Suspected synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia was later recovered. The driver was charged with Possession of a Synthetic Cannabinoids, a 3rd degree crime, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in the Morris County Superior Court.

- At 12:19 a.m., Ptl. Joseph DiRocco arrested a 60-year-old Madison woman. DiRocco responded to a Park Ave. residence on a reported dispute taking place. When the officer arrived he learned that an assault had taken place at the residence. The woman was charged with Simple Assault and released on her own recognizance pending an appearance in the Madison Municipal Court.
July 14
- At 2:06 p.m., Cpl. Luis Goncalves arrested a 19-year-old man from Union, NJ. Goncalves responded to the area of the Madison Commons near Chateau Thierry Drive, on a reported suspicious Toyota Corolla, observed driving around the complex. Upon locating the vehicle and speaking to the driver, the odor of burnt marijuana was detected inside the vehicle. After an investigation by officers, a white powder believed to be suspected cocaine was found in driver’s possession. The driver was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute. He was later released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in the Morris County Superior Court. The Madison Police Detective Bureau assisted during this arrest.
July 17

- At 8:50 a.m., Cpl. Vincent Dellavalle arrested a 20- year-old man from Jersey City, NJ. The Madison Police Department received information from the Chatham Police Department that an individual in a black Nissan just brandished a machete in a threatening manner during a reported road rage incident. Cpl. Dellavalle along with other Madison officers quickly located the vehicle being operated in the rear of the Madison Plaza Parking lot. After conducting an investigation into the reported weapon allegation, a 24-inch machete was located in the driver’s possession. The man was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. He was later released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in the Morris County Superior Court. The New Jersey State Police assisted during this investigation.
July 19
- At 3:06 p.m., Ptl. Joseph DiRocco arrested a 19-year-old man from Remsenburg, NY. The suspect was identified by a Walgreens employee acting suspiciously in the store. When the employee approached the man, he ran out of the store setting off the alarm to the door security towers. It was reported during the suspect’s getaway, he dropped a canned ham that had been concealed under his clothing. The subject was later apprehended a short distance from the store still in possession of several other items allegedly stolen from the store. DiRocco charged the subject with one count of Shoplifting and he was released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in the Madison Municipal Court.
