Madison Schools Make the Top 25 Best Districts New Jersey

The Madison school district has made the top 25 list of the best school district in the state of New Jersey. The district’s outstanding academic programs and stellar teachers and administrators are behind the new top-notch score, as ranked by Niche.com.

Niche.com is dedicated to evaluating U.S. and Puerto Rican schools based on parent and student reviews. The site reported that parent/student surveys gave Madison schools an overall school of 3.6 out of 5.

The Madison school district came in at number 24, out of hundreds of schools that were ranked by the website.

Madison’s teachers received an A+, as did its administrators and policies. Madison also received an A grade in these categories: academics, educational outcomes, health and safety, and sports and fitness. Madison schools did not fare as well in the student culture and diversity category, receiving just a C+.

“According to state standards, 88 percent of students in this district are considered proficient in math and/or reading,” Niche.com reported. “The district has an annual budget of $40,048,000, spending an average of $17,557 per student.”

The website uses a very detailed set of methods to rank the top 100 schools in New Jersey. The site collected 4.6 million opinions from 280,000 New Jersey students and parents.

According to Niche.com, a high overall ranking includes the following criteria:

• Students are very happy with their experience in all aspects including academics, teachers, health, safety, resources, facilities, extracurriculars, sports, and fitness;
• District schools are exceptional academic institutions in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes;
• District schools are made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture;
• Students are actively involved in a variety of extracurriculars and sports the district offers.
