Parade And Tree Lighting Ceremony Planned For This Week In Madison
Despite possible weather concerns the Madison Christmas Parade and tree lighting ceremony are still planned for Friday.

MADISON, NJ — Despite potential weather concerns, the Borough of Madison has decided to not postpone or cancel this year's Madison Christmas Parade and tree lighting ceremony.
According to an official announcement by the Madison Christmas Committee, the borough will be monitoring the weather and will provide an update if things take a turn for the worse.
This year, the parade is scheduled to kick off on Nov. 25 at 5:30 p.m. on Waverly Place.

According to Michael Pellessier, the Borough of Madison's Communication and Technology Coordinator, the parade will feature close to 70 floats and parade groups from Madison and surrounding municipalities.
The weather forecast for Friday currently shows a 60 percent chance of rain between the hours of 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and a 30 percent chance of rain before 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

"Of course safety is our main priority as we are asking all Madison residents to keep their fingers crossed for clear weather this Friday," the borough said.
The annual Christmas Parade, now in its 43rd year, draws nearly 15,000 spectators, making it one of the area's most popular holiday celebrations.
