Madison Kicks Off 2026 Budget Season, Reviews Open Space Trust Fund and Capital Needs (tapinto.net) — Madison officials have kicked off the 2026 budget season, outlining a public workshop schedule from late January through April 27 that will shape local spending on parks, infrastructure and other priorities. The council also reviewed the strong status of the Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Trust Fund and noted Council President Rachel Ehrlich’s final regular meeting before new officials are sworn in on January 3.

Madison Rotary's Annual Christmas Tree Sale Continues This Holiday Season (tapinto.net) — Madison residents can still pick out their Christmas tree at the Rotary’s annual sale at Dodge Field, running through Dec. 17 with daily hours listed. Shoppers will find a wide range of fresh trees, wreaths, and roping, with all proceeds supporting local service groups, youth programs, and charities in Madison and nearby communities.

3. Madison Police Chief Takes County Leadership Role while Department Promotes Safety (tapinto.net) — Madison Police Chief John Miscia has been sworn in as president of the Morris County Police Chiefs Association while the department steps up local safety outreach and volunteer efforts. The Madison Police Auxiliary recently held its holiday dinner, is actively recruiting new members, and officers are visiting schools to teach e-bike safety as ridership grows around town.

Field Hockey: Second Team All-State, 2025 (nj.com subscription) — Madison field hockey standout Lindsay Catchpole has been named to the 2025 Second Team All-State after leading Madison to a historic Morris County title and a trip to the Group 1 state final. The statewide roundup highlights her 32-goal, 76-point season and notes Madison’s dramatic win over West Morris and showdown with Shore in the championship.
