Police Blotter: Former Student Charged in Drew Laptop Theft

Twenty-one-year-old also charged in theft of third student who reported missing cell phone.

On March 22, police arrested Charles Katebi, 21 of Princeton, Mass., and charged him with theft of property. Police were called by Drew Public Safety Officers who determined that Katebi had taken two laptop computers from students working in the Drew Library. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail. Police also charged Katebi with theft of property from a third Drew student who reported his cell phone stolen. Katebi is a former Drew Student.

On March 23, police arrested Susan Woomer, 20 of Oak Ridge, and charged her with possession of alcohol while under the legal age. Police initially stopped Woomer for a motor vehicle violation. She was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing she was released pending a court appearance. Woomer was also issued a motor vehicle summons for driving while using a cell phone.

On March 24, police arrested Thomas Cobb, 26 of Toms River, on the strength of a $600 motor vehicle traffic warrant. Police ran a computer check on Cobb and was alerted there was an active warrant from the authorities of Seaside Heights. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he as released pending a court appearance.

On March 26, police arrested Thomas Cioce, 25 of Paramus, and charged him with driving under the influence. Police initially stopped Cioce for a motor vehicle violation. It was determined that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a friend pending a court appearance. Cioce was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to keep right.

On March 28, police arrested Steve Cancelliere, 19 of Clark, and charged him with driving under the influence. Police were called to assist Drew Public Safety Officers who stopped Cancellire exiting the campus and suspected him of driving under the influence. Police determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a friend pending a court appearance.
