Police: Man Charged with DUI, Two Face Drug Charges

In the latest incident blotter, the Madison Police Department report a pair of men are facing drug charges in separate incidents and a borough man faces charges of driving while intoxicated.

On May 10, 2015 at 11:36 p.m., Ptl. Bart Glab arrested 20 year old Albino Bola of Bedminster, NJ. Glab stopped Bola after observing an alleged motor vehicle violation take place on Main St. While speaking with Bola, Glab identified an odor of marijuana from inside his vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed that Bola was in possession suspected marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. Bola was charged with Possession of less than 50 grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bola was released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in the Madison Municipal Court.

On May 11, 2015 at 2:18 p.m., Ptl. Luis Goncalves arrested a 16 year old man and a 17 year old man both of Madison. Officers were dispatched to the area of Burnet Rd. on a report of two individuals smoking marijuana in a parked vehicle. When officers arrived they confirmed that marijuana was being smoked by the youths. Goncalves located suspected marijuana other drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The Juveniles were taken into custody and later released to their parents.

On May 13, 2015 at 12:17 a.m., Ptl. Bart Glab arrested Ian Paytas age 22 of Livingston, NJ. Ptl. Glab observed Paytas commit an alleged motor vehicle violation while traveling on Madison Ave. While Glab was speaking with Paytas, he admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. Paytas was charged with Possession of less than 50 grams of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in the Madison Municipal Court.

On May 13, 2015 at 11:42 p.m., Ptl. Bart Glab arrested 34 year old Robert Morse of Madison, NJ. Glab was on patrol when he observed Morse commit an alleged speeding violation while traveling on Madison Ave. While speaking with Morse, Glab detected the odor of an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. Glab later determined that Morse was operating his vehicle under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, over the legal limit. Morse was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated in a School Zone in addition to with several other motor vehicle offenses.

The Madison Police Department responded to 48 medical calls, 28 motor vehicle crashes and 44 activated alarms as of May 22.
