Open Space Tax, Underage Drinking Law, Meds Disposal This Week

A look at the week ahead in the Rose City.

Borough Council: Madison's governing body is scheduled to meet at 8 p.m. Monday at Hartley Dodge Memorial. Public hearings and votes on proposed laws that would adjust the open space tax rate and prohibit underage drinking in homes, with some exceptions, are expected to be on the agenda.

Pet Photographer: Famed pet photographer Seth Casteel will give tips on how anyone with a digital camera can help homeless pets get adopted. The free class is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center.

Prescription Drugs Disposal: Residents can drop off expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs at Madison police headquarters from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday as part of an initiative by the Madison Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The service, which is free and anonymous with no questions asked, is meant to prevent pill abuse and theft.
