Everyday Under Wraps will feature four talks:

  • Physician and wellness entrepreneur Amruti Borad’s talk, “Why We Lie to Our Doctors (And on a First Date)” will draw on her personal experiences in the medical industry and with online dating to explore why fear of rejection can drive people to lie in all kinds of situations, from dates to annual check-ups, and how we can cultivate a culture that values transparency and open communication.
  • Barry Burd, a mathematics and computer science professor at Drew University who explores the mathematical concept of infinity, will deliver a talk titled “Airline Pricing Defies Logic” that will explain research that proves finding the “best flight” for a trip is mathematically impossible.
  • “Why Women Don’t Sh*t at Work,” a talk by Irina Soriano, tech executive, author, and co-founder of SISTERLY, will use unspoken norms about women's use of the bathroom in the workplace to illuminate how women tend to carry a disproportionate mental and emotional load that can stifle their personal and professional growth.
  • Sarene Alsharif’s talk “How to Save the World with a Pair of Jeans” will draw on her academic background in public health and experience as co-founder and CEO of Tad More Tailoring to explore the harmful environmental impacts of fast fashion and outline ways to increase sustainability in the fashion industry.
