Winter Storm Causes Delayed Opening for Madison Schools

Madison public schools will have a delayed opening Monday due to hazardous winter conditions.

Madison Public Schools will have a two-hour delayed start tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 11, due to Winter Storm Hektor. The storm is set to drop freezing rain, sleet, and snow on New Jersey tonight and tomorrow morning.

The National Weather Service issued both a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Winter Weather Advisory for much of New Jersey, saying a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will arrive on Sunday night and Monday morning.

According to the NWS, the snow and sleet will briefly turn to rain before returning to a snow mixture on Monday evening.
