The Mahwah High School Drama Club is putting on a production of the musical, "Little Women,” based on the beloved book written by Louisa May Alcott. It is the story of the four March sisters during the Civil War, focusing on lead character Jo.
Directed by Jean Johnson, Mahwah High School Drama teacher, the students have been working hard on the acting, the language, set design and costumes. Performances begin at Mahwah High School on Wednesday, March 20 at 4 p.m. with a free senior citizens performance. Regular performances begin Thursday, March 21 through Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m., plus a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, March 24. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and teachers.
Additionally, there will be a Children’s Gala matinee on Saturday, March 23 running from 1 p.m. until approximately 4 p.m. Activities will include decorating a sword and participating in a sword lesson, playing games popular in the 1860s, enjoying Civil War era snacks, seeing a special children’s performance of the show, and getting to take a tour of the theater led by the director, Jean Johnson. Children will also take home their sword and a souvenir patch.

The cost is $10 for adults and $20 for children. Please RSVP by March18th for the Children’s Gala.
