Endorsement Letter for David May, Mahwah Township Council
Letter written by Bob Lockwood

Dear Editor,
I am writing to you in regards to David May who is running for re-election to the Mahwah Township Council. I have known David for over 10 years and trust his judgement. He has served the Mahwah community the last 8 years as a Council member, including the duties of Council President for several terms. Prior to serving on Council he attended Township Council meetings for many years. Seeing an opportunity to improve township matters, he ran for office.
He is passionate about innovative ideas, improved operations and leveraging taxpayer dollars effectively. In an effort to keep the community informed of township matters, one of the first initiatives that he undertook was to have all public meetings videotaped and streamed on the internet. All before zoom!

David takes township matters very seriously, like budgeting and affordable housing. The State's affordable housing mandates have a profound impact on all local municipalities and especially in Mahwah. He has worked diligently to understand Affordable Housing in the State of New Jersey. He is an expert in this area and has led the negotiations and settlements with the Fair Share Housing Center to the benefit of the Mahwah residents.
David is thoughtful, creative and hard working. He has the wellbeing of our community at heart. He has been involved in many issues across the town from road improvement, pool improvement and balancing a complex budget. He is a dedicated public servant. I urge you to continue to trust David and to vote for him in this election cycle to continue to serve on the Mahwah Council.
