2 Crashes In Wyckoff Lead To Drunk Driving Arrests: Police
Crashes in Wyckoff in recent months led to two DWI arrests, police said.
WYCKOFF, NJ — Two crashes in Wyckoff in the last two months led to DWI charges for the drivers, police said.
On Nov. 15, around 4:30 p.m., police headed to the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and Meadowbrook Road on a report that a vehicle struck a street sign, police said.
Police found that a Nissan pickup truck had left the roadway and struck the sign, they said.

Attilio Vlasica, 74, of Wyckoff was taken to headquarters and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to keep right, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, police said.
His vehicle was impounded and held for 12 hours under John’s Law.

On Oct. 16, police said, around midnight, Officer Kenneth Marcoux was dispatched to a single-car crash on Newtown Road.
He saw a black Audi off the roadway with significant damage, police said.
Marcoux detected signs of impairment from the driver and arrested him, police said.
Blair Hutkin, 52, of Wyckoff was taken to headquarters and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain a lane, and refusal to submit to breath testing, police said.
His vehicle was impounded and held for 12 hours under John’s Law.
John's Law was instituted in New Jersey in 2001 after a man was charged with DWI and then released into the custody of a friend. The friend took him to his vehicle, according to the state. The man then collided with another car, killing the driver, John Elliott, who was an ensign in the Navy.
