Indictment Alleges Former Mahwah Bookkeeper Stole More Than $75K From Ridgewood YMCA
A grand jury returned an indictment Monday claiming Catherine Easer created and used fake credit cards for herself for more than five years.

An investigation has revealed that a Mahwah resident and former bookkeeper for the Ridgewood YMCA actually embezzled more than previously thought by authorities.
Catherine Easer, 55, of Mahwah, was first believed to have taken $40,000 from the Ridgewood YMCA, but an ongoing investigation revealed she allegedly took more than $75,000, Cliffview Pilot reported.
According to the Ridgewood Blog, Easer ”allegedly diverted YMCA funds and used YMCA accounts” for her personal use before being arrested and charged with 3rd degree theft last April.

The arrest came after officials from the YMCA contacted police in February of 2014 “to report financial discrepancies and possible theft,” NJ.com reported.
A grand jury returned an indictment in Hackensack Monday also claiming Easer created and used fake credit cards for herself for more than five years, according to Cliffview Pilot.
