I am writing to my friends and neighbors in Mahwah to urge all to vote to re-elect David May to the Mahwah Town Council. He has served since 2017 and deserves to continue because of his leadership skills and commitment to Mahwah.
David has served as Board of Education liaison, Council President from 2018-2023 and Municipal Housing Liaison. The Municipal Liaison role requires specialized certification which David earned through Rutgers University. In NJ communities the Municipal Housing Liaison is usually filled by the town administrator, but David is the only Council member serving in this position in NJ. His expertise has supported Mahwah to meet its affordable housing goal without expensive and time consuming court battles with developers.
Under David's leadership Mahwah has finally found solutions for issues long disputed, discussed and neglected! These include the DPW facility replacement, placement of a cell tower
in the Masonicus neighborhood, renovation of the train station and the 1929 Erie Caboose. David addressed these issues of health and safety as well as aesthetic concerns which had languished for too long due to political chaos and infighting in town.
