Mahwah Public Schools was identified as a New Jersey 'future-ready' school district.
MAHWAH, NJ — Mahwah is preparing students for the workforce of the future.
Mahwah Public Schools has been identified as a New Jersey future-ready school district, following the district's creation of an action plan with goals to improve teaching and learning with integration of technology.
"We celebrate this honor with you and thank our team for their insights along the way," the district said on its website.

Mahwah closely evaluated all programs, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, and developed tech-forward actionable items to move the district ahead.
A research-based framework, developed by the American Institutes for Research with support from the U.S. Department of Education, defines focus areas that districts are to address in the planning process — collaborative leadership, personalized student and professional learning, and robust infrastructure.

Over the course of the past year, the district's leadership and technology staff, assessed the areas of need in instructional programs and designed a plan that will serve as a "roadmap" toward digital learning in the months and years ahead.
Future-ready schools, the district said, help educators ensure each student graduates with the "agency, passion and skills to be a productive, compassionate and responsible citizen."
Mahwah is one of more than 3,400 school districts that has signed the future-ready pledge to "foster and lead a culture of digital learning within schools."
