Mahwah's 'Circle of Freedom' Memorial Seeks Financial Support
An MB&G fundraiser Wednesday night will donate to the project at Veterans Park.

The Mahwah Beautification Committee is working on plans to build a “Circle of Freedom” memorial at Veterans Park. The plan calls for 12 separate monuments to be placed around the park. Each monument will represent a different war, and all will serve as a permanent tribute to township residents who have served time in the armed forces.
The Committee hopes to raise enough money to have the memorial installed in time for the township’s annual Veteran’s Day Parade. In order to help them reach that goal, its hosting a Circle of Freedom fundraiser at the Mahwah Bar & Grill Wednesday night.
In a release this week, the Committee announced the fundraiser, and asked for the community’s support.

“Our veterans have answered the call to serve,” committee member Tom DeWan said in the release. “Now we need to answer their request for specific war memorials. We need your financial and community support.”
Diners who stop into MB&G between 5 and 10 p.m. Wednesday will have 10% of the proceeds from their meal donated to the Committee.
