An event planned to give Mahwah parents an inside look into teenage depression is now happening next month. The event was originally scheduled for last Thursday.
According to organizers, Teenage Anxiety and Depression: A Parent Presentation, will feature a talk by a therapist and behavioral expert on the differences between “normal” adolescent emotions and clinical depression, and a 16-year-old sharing with parents her experiences coping with depression and anxiety.
The event, set for March 6 at the Sheraton Crossroads, is on the heels of an MMA panel discussion on teenage drug use, which the group hosted in November. Past MMA parent presentations include events on underage drinking and cyberbullying. MMA talks typically draw 200 township parents or more.
