Mahwah Wildfire Blazes On Ramapo Mountains

The Bergen County Fire Marshal and NJFFS were investigating the cause of the fire.

MAHWAH, NJ - A wildfire, covering an estimated 50 acres of land, broke out once again on the Ramapo Mountains north of Camp Glen Gray Wednesday.

The brush fire broke out on Bear Swamp Road near Camp Yaw Paw, according to Rockland Fires.

Crews are back out Thursday morning, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service A2 Firefighter's Association.

The fire was 50 percent contained as of 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, the firefighter's association said.

No injuries have been reported and no other structures have been damaged, according to the firefighter's association.

The firefighter’s association noted this incident was separate to the earlier fire near Ramapo Reservation last weekend.
