Museum Looking for Knowledgeable Mahwah ‘Neighbors’

'The Neighborhoods of Mahwah' Exhibit is opening this Fall.

The following letter to the editor was submitted to Patch by Charlie Carreras.

Mahwah Residents,

We at the Mahwah Museum are very excited about our next exhibit – “The Neighborhoods of Mahwah.”

We have many people working on  the research and putting the exhibit together.  This will be very popular.

We are in need of  more docents – that is – volunteers who will welcome visitors to the museum, register them, and answer questions about the exhibit.

We have had many recent successes at the museum. For example: The W3R, Les Paul and the Civil War in Mahwah.  More recently we have The Nike Base in Mahwah.

We are closing for the months of July and August as we mount our new exhibit and reduce the size of the Les Paul exhibit.  We are very fortunate to have had many volunteers which have served us well as docents.  We would like to now recruit new docents.

If you are interested in learning more about our museum and how you can be involved in a variety of ways please come to one of our orientation meeting on Wednesday, July 10 at 7:30 p.m. or Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m.  At that time we will explain what we are doing and how you can become involved.

If you have questions please let me know  through our website at www.mahwahmuseum.org or leave a message at the museum – 201-512-0099. Please consider being involved in this exciting project!
