BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — It's official! Wawa is expanding to Ramsey, according to store officials.

The American chain is opening another convenience store at 966 Route 17 North on May 11, store officials confirmed.

"Wawa is proud to open its doors (and hearts) to provide trusted quality products, convenience, new jobs and support, and to fulfill lives in the Ramsey community," a spokesperson said in a release.

General Manager Erica Santana and local Mayor Deidre Dillon will count down the moment when the new store opens at 8 a.m., and will then welcome customers with a celebratory toast and ribbon-cutting ceremony, according to the release.

"The event will celebrate new associates and customers and the simple gestures, like holding the door for one another, that together make a big difference in making Wawa’s family-like store atmosphere possible," the store spokesperson said.

On opening day, the store will offer free hot coffee, give away T-shirts to the first 100 customers, and present checks to local police and fire departments, the release said.

"The grand opening will gather everyone to celebrate the impact the new store will have on neighbors and community," the spokesperson added.
