Woman Charged With Drug Offenses In Bergen County: Prosecutors

A woman was charged on Tuesday on drug offenses with intent to distribute, according to prosecutors.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A woman from Oakland, Calif., was charged on Thursday on drug offenses in Bergen County, Prosecutor’s Office said.

Fernanda Young, 33, was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana over 25 lbs. with the intent to distribute, third-degree possession of methamphetamine and third-degree possession of fentanyl.

Young is awaiting her first appearance in court at Bergen County Jail.

According to prosecutors, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force found that Young was transporting bulk shipments of marijuana through Bergen County. Task force officials searched a U-haul truck in Carlstadt where they found packages of marijuana that weighed 236 pounds. They also found crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl.
