1 Killed In Car Crash On Iron Ore Road On Sunday

The 25-year-old Roebling​ resident was driving by himself and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A man died in a single-vehicle car crash early morning on Sunday on Iron Ore Road near Mt. Vernon Road, police said.

The driver was 25-year-old Christopher J. Favale, from Roebling, who was driving by himself.

He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to a spokesman from the Manalapan Township Police Department.

A passerby traveling on Iron Ore Road reported that an overturned pickup truck had been seen in the wooded area just off the road.

The roadway was closed for about five hours while an investigation was conducted by Manalapan Township Police Department Traffic Safety Officer Det. Dominick Donatelli, Jr.

The Manalapan Township Fire Company #1, the Monroe Township Fire Department, Robert Wood University Paramedics, and the Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad also responded the scene.

The incident happened at around 5:30 a.m. and is still under investigation by the department's traffic unit.
