$150K Range Rover Stolen, Fraud: Manalapan PD Blotter

MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5.

On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at approximately 4:05 p.m., Sarah Lawrence, a 32-year-old, unmarried female, resident of Cortlandt Manor, New York, who is employed as a manager, was stopped on Route 522 for motor vehicle violations and subsequently found to be operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Ms. Lawrence was placed under arrest and transported to the Manalapan Township Police Department where she was processed and released after being issued motor vehicle summonses. Patrolman Sean McCarthy was the arresting officer.

On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at approximately 3:49 p.m., a 71-year-old resident of Manalapan Township reported that a debit card was used by an unknown actor(s) without authorization in the amount of $140. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a 57-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that two actors, described only as wearing black hooded shirts and gloves, entered an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway of a Mill Road residence. No items were reported missing as a result of this incident. Patrolman Jeffery Emslie handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Monday, October 4, 2021, at approximately 9:15 p.m., a 42-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that an unknown actor(s) applied for a software account utilizing the victim’s pedigree information. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled the report.

On Saturday, October 3, 2021, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Patrolmen Hayden Hrymack responded to the area of Friar Lane in Manalapan for a report of a physical altercation that occurred between a 34-year-old resident of Staten Island, New York and a 42-year-old resident of Manalapan, New Jersey. The victim reported sustaining minor injuries as a result of this incident, however, did not wish to pursue criminal complaints at this time. Patrolman Hayden Hrymack handled the report.

On Saturday, October 2, 2021, at approximately 3:47 p.m., a 58-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported being involved in a physical altercation with a 24-year-old Manalapan resident while on Justin Way. Minor injuries were reported, however, no complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Christopher Oleksy handled the report.

On Saturday, October 2, 2021, at approximately 2:20 p.m., a 44-year-old South Plainfield resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported being harassed by a 42-year-old Englishtown resident. Patrolman Christopher Oleksy handled the report, which is pending the signing of complaints.

On Friday, October 1, 2021, at approximately 8:58 p.m., a 33-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported being threatened by a 31-year-old Manalapan resident. Patrolman Peter Bylsma handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, at approximately 11:58 p.m., Patrolman James Guarino and Patrolman Douglas Zike took custody of Anthony Napoli, a 27-year-old, unmarried, male resident of Lakewood, who is employed as a mechanic, had been arrested by the New Jersey State Police regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $2,000. Mr. Napoli was subsequently transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail, pending a court appearance.

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, at approximately 8:48 p.m., Patrolman Douglas Zike and Patrolman Jason Vigneault took custody of Keith Underwood, a 33-year-old, unmarried, male resident of Long Branch, unknown employment, who had been placed under arrest by the Brick Township Police Department regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. Mr. Underwood was subsequently transported Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail, pending a
court appearance.

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, at approximately 5:21 p.m., a 61-year-old resident of Manalapan Township reported that they had purchased a store gift card in the amount of $500 and provided the information to an unknown actor in order to rectify an identity issue. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report.

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, at approximately 12:36 p.m., a 74-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that an unknown actor(s) applied for unemployment benefits in the name of the victim. Patrolman Douglas Zike handled the report.

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 8:48 a.m., a 41-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that an unknown actor(s) gained access to their unlocked vehicle and removed items valued at approximately $200 while parked at a Stayman Court residence. Patrolman Douglas Zike handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Thursday, September 24, 2021, at 7:47 a.m., a 41-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that unknown actor(s) stole a 2020 Range Rover, valued at approximately $150,000 out of a closed garage from a Stayman Court residence. The actor(s) were able to gain access to the garage from another unlocked vehicles garage door opener. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Thursday, September 29, 2021 approximately 5:59 p.m., Patrolman James Guarino conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 33 for a motor vehicle violation. The driver of the vehicle, Sergio Gallardo, a 20-year-old, unmarried, male resident of Millstone Township, who is employed as a laborer, was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by the Monroe Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. Mr. Gallardo was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and subsequently turned over to Monroe Township Police Department in lieu of bail. Patrolman James Guarino was the arresting officer.

On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at approximately 12:32 p.m., a 49-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that unknown actor(s) utilized their personal information to file for unemployment benefits and to open a credit account. There was no monetary loss to the victim as a result of this incident. Patrolman Kyle Williams handled the report.

On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at approximately 12:03 a.m., a 48-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported two incidents of criminal mischief to a vehicle that was parked at a West Parsonage Way residence during the overnight hours of September 25, 2021 and September 28, 2021. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano handled the report.
