$2,000 Internet Fraud, Thefts Are Reported By Manalapan Police
A 65-year-old Manalapan resident was defrauded of more than $2,000 on the internet.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Several instances of fraud and theft were reported last week in the township in the weekly crime report prepared by Deputy Chief Leonard Maltese.
- A resident, 65, told police on April 21 of being defrauded of $2,140.00 via the internet.
- A resident, 37, told police on April 24 that someone unknown to them used their personal information to take out a small business loan in the amount of $24,000, but no monetary loss was reported.
- A Millstone resident, 61, told police on April 21 that someone stole items valued at approximately$3,042 from a storage unit located on Madison Avenue in Manalapan.
- An Old Bridge resident, 43, told police on April 19 that a 66-year-old Tacoma, Washington resident stole approximately $24,000 from a Route 33 business.
There was also a report of a burglary attempt:
- On April 20, a 35-year-old resident reported that someone attempted to burglarize a Church Lane residence.
All of the incidents are being investigated.

Police also reported that on April 24 at approximately 4:23 p.m. a structure fire was reported at a Kelton Place residence. Fire departments from Manalapan, Englishtown, Monroe and Marlboro responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, the cause of which is pending further investigation.
