MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from Nov. 17 to 23.
On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 2:54 p.m., Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis and Patrolman Mantas Stanionis responded to the Mercer County Correctional Institution. Joshua P. Caleen, a 41-year-old, married, male resident of Howell, who is employed as a warehouse worker, was taken into custody regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. Mr. Caleen was placed under arrest and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail, pending a court appearance. Patrolman Mantas Stanionis handled the arrest.
On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 2:26 p.m. a 19-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown actor fraudulently utilized the victim’s personal information to purchase gift cards. Patrolman Matthew Porricelli took the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Monday, November 22, 2021, at 11:17 p.m., Patrolman Everett McNulty and Patrolman John Lightbody responded to Newton Township Police Department. Merle Lee, Jr., a 45-year-old, unmarried, self-employed male resident of Dingmans Ferry, PA, was taken into custody regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. Mr. Lee was placed under arrest and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail, pending a court appearance. Patrolman Everett McNulty handled the arrest.
On Monday, November 22, 2021, at approximately 9:18 p.m., a 23-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unknown actors had damaged several advertising signs, valued at approximately $3,000, at various locations in Manalapan. It is unknown when the signs were damaged. Patrolman Jason Vigneault took the report.

On Monday, November 22, 2021, at approximately 9:34 a.m., a 65-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that unknown actor(s) had fraudulently changed the victim’s mailing address. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Mantas Stanionis handled the report.
On Sunday, November 21, 2021, at approximately 8:19 a.m., Patrolman Mantas Stanionis responded to the Yorktowne Center, located at 300 Gordon’s Corner Road in Manalapan, for a report of a water leak inside a business. The Gordons Corner Fire Department responded and discovered the floors to be flooded and a smoke condition present. The Gordons Corner Fire Department was able to extinguish a fire and deemed the business safe. This incident appears to be accidental in nature at this time.
On Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 11:06 p.m. an 18-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an attempt to be extorted out of approximately $100 via social media. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie took the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 11:09 a.m. a 55-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that unknown actor(s) had used the victim’s credit and debit card information to make three unauthorized online transactions. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie took the report.
On Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 2:28 a.m., a 39-year-old Manalapan resident reported being assaulted by a 38-year-old New York resident. Minor injuries were reported, however, no complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Matthew Mattia took the report.
On November 20, 2021, at approximately 1:54 a.m., Shivam Poddar, a 34-year-old, unmarried, self-employed, male resident of Manalapan, was found to be driving while intoxicated at 345 Union Hill Road in Manalapan. Mr. Poddar was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after being issued summonses. Patrolman Douglas Zike was the arresting officer.
