5 Things to Know Today in Manalapan: Dec. 21, 2012

1. Scattered Flurries: The National Weather Service is calling for a mostly cloudy day with a high temperature around 46 and a 30 percent chance of rain. Scattered flurries will fall from mostly cloudy skies tonight and the low temperature will hit around 28 degrees.

 

2. School Recess Begins: Winter recess begins today for Manalapan High School and Manalapan-Englishtown elementary schools after the end of the day today. Manalapan High School has a half-day schedule today and elementary schools have a full day.

 

3. See Santa this Weekend: Come and meet Santa at three locations this weekend!

• Meet Santa at iPlay America, located at 110 Schanck Road in Freehold, starting at noon on Saturday and Sunday (until 6 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday).
• Breakfast with Santa at the American Legion Post 434, located at 11 Sanford Street in Manalapan, on Sunday, Dec. 23 at 9 a.m. Children receive a free breakfast and toys; adults may have breakfast for a $5 donation. The proceeds will benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief.
• Breakfast with Santa at iPlay America on Sunday, Dec. 23 at 10 a.m.  The buffet breakfast costs $12.95

5. Ballroom Dance: A Ballroom Dance social is being held tonight at 8 p.m. the Freehold First Aid Squad, located at 18 Spring Street in Freehold. The dance social costs $15 and comes with a complimentary dance lesson and light refreshments.
