Business Break-In Results In $15K Loss, Manalapan Police Report

Manalapan police report several incidents of theft in the township, several involving businesses.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A local business was robbed of $15,000 in goods last week, police report.

A report was made to police that on Sunday June 4, someone forced entry into a Wilson Avenue business, and removed various items valued at approximately $15,000, police said in a weekly crime report.

  • Theft: On June 2, a township resident told police that a package, valued at $1,599, was stolen from the front of a Madigan Lane residence.
  • Theft of Services/Property: On June 1, a resident told police another Manalapan resident failed to give payment for services and was in possession of property, valued at approximately $3,350.
  • Theft: On May 31, a loss prevention employee of the Target Department Store, 55 Route 9 in Manalapan EpiCentre, reported that someone shoplifted $481.49 worth of merchandise and then fled the area.
  • Theft/Fraud: On May 31, a loss prevention employee from the Homesense Department Store, 55 Route 9 in Manalapan EpiCentre, reported that three people defrauded the business by returning unpaid merchandise they removed from the store shelves to obtain the cash value, totaling $746.29.

All incidents are under investigation by police.
